David Davis, a friend and ally of Charlotte Leslie, used his parliamentary privilege to repeat Leslie’s defamatory accusations against me and incorrectly label my legal action as a SLAPP. I was not consulted by Davis about the accusations and he made no attempt to give a fair and balanced account of the situation.
Attached in this section you will find a transcript of Davis’ speech in January 2022; the correspondence between David Davis and me following his speech; and a copy of the letter of complaint I sent to the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards. I have repeatedly called on him to make the same comments outside of parliament where he would no longer be protected by privilege – something he has never done, tellingly.
