Chatham House

In a research report published on Chatham House’s website on 8th December 2021, the authors alleged that I was ‘revealed in the Pandora Papers’ to have been the intermediary for payments made to Gulnara Karimova during a deal on which I advised TeliaSonera. This is categorically false. I was just one of many advisors and was never directly involved with negotiations with Gulnara nor acted as an intermediary for any payment.

I attempted to resolve this issue amicably, working collaboratively with Chatham House to amend the inaccuracies. Chatham House tried to be cooperative but were somewhat hampered by one of the authors of the report: a University of Exeter Professor who was insistent on publishing what was provably false research. Eventually, he was forced to accept he had misled Chatham House and the report was amended to remove inaccuracies.

Full correspondence with Chatham House and the University of Exeter and its Professor John Heathershaw are exhibited hereto.
